Silkroad Online:Unique Monsters, Part Two

BeakYung The White Viper

BeakYung is like no other Unique monster in all of Silkroad Online. But wait! You can’t get to Medusa unless you enter her realm and kill her Guardians.

At 0400, 1000, 1600, 2200 hours SRST (Silkroad Standard time) the Serin Gate opens at the center of the B4 level of the Qin-Shi Tomb. People generally start meeting up there in the half hour prior so it’s a good place to get a party. The gate will only stay open for 10 minutes and once it closes you cannot enter the B5 level. If you disconnect while inside or teleport town town, you will respawn at the gate on B4, not even reverse returns will get you back inside.

The B5 area is like a cross and you have four choices of where to proceed. Four Guardians are at the end of each arm the cross. They are as follows: North room is JeonUk The Black Tortoise, south room is YumJae The Red Hawk, west room is TaeHo The Blue Dragon and east is SoHaow The White Tiger.

JeonjUk The Black Tortoise

At level 98 the north room “Turtle” is probably the easiest of the four rooms. His attacks are slow and cause knockback, knockdown and shortsight (decreased range). A good tactic for quick defeat is to place a tank at the front and attack the Turtle from behind and his effects will not reach you.

YumJae The Blue Hawk

The south’s Guardian is level 98 and the second easiest of the four. Electric shock (reduces parry) and stun make him a bit harder than the Turtle north of him. His range is quite long and his stun can affect 5 players at once. There is no real trick to killing him, just bear with the stuns and use holy spell to reduce shock time.

TaeHo The Blue Dragon

This level 99 Guardian is in the west room and he is the easier of the two 99 Guardians. He is fast and his attacks cause electrical shock but at a low probability. There is no real trick to killing him and he is a good boss to drop those top tier 10th degree items.

SoHaow The White Tiger

This is the hardest of the four Guardians. Level 99 and in the east room, his attack are the strongest and the most annoying. His attacks are physical and his stun probability is 80% so unless you bring a warlock along to keep him slept or stunned be prepared for a long fight. Having a lock will cut the kill time in half.

Shinmoo: The Man of Flames

Once all four rooms are cleared level 100 Shinmoo spawns in the SW corner of the center room. He was a warrior who came to Medusa to kill her and take her blood to cure his lover of poison but he lost and became her minion. He appears as a 10th degree armor wearing spearman in berserk status. His attacks cause burn, stun and fear (causes you to lose target). The best tactic to kill him is to let the tank keep aggro and attack from a distance. He has a lot of hit points but there are usually a lot of people there after the four other Guardians go down. This is the first and one of only three monsters in the entire game that will drop level 100 gear so getting the kill for your party is a real boon.

Once Shinmoo dies the three blue crystal portals in the center room become operational. They are located at the southeast, northeast and northwest corners of the room. Each of them teleport you to a random room on the B6 level and contain one of three possible secondary Guardians. They are one way portals, so it’s a gamble if you get something you don’t like or want.

The Guardian Chamber: You can get a series of level 92 - 99 monsters with four spawning at a time. As each set dies, the next one spawns. This is the easiest and fastest of the rooms and will get you to Medusa the quickest.

The Man-viper Chamber: The four Snake Generals are your second possibility. These Uniques are also on the B3 level and are level 95. They each have one spawn of mobs and are not difficult to kill.

The Black Viper Chamber: Soso the Black Viper is the third possibility and the most sought after because she is level 100 and may drop level 100 10th degree gear. Her attacks are physical with a low probability of zombie. Having a cleric with you negates even that small threat.

Once you clear your room, the teleport where you entered becomes operational again but this time it teleports you to the center room of B6. There are four large green crystal teleports that will take you to B1 through B4 levels of the tomb. If you don’t want to go for Medusa, then a nice way to cap off the raid is to teleport from the southeast corner teleport crystal (to B4) and teleport from there to B3 and kill the Snake General Unique that spawns there. If you are going to go on to kill Medusa, then go straight north for the teleport to the north room, the White Viper Chamber.<\/p>

BeakYung The White Viper

This is the highest level Unique in Silkroad Online. Affectionately known as “Medusa” or the “Snake Lady” she is level 105 and has some mean, mean attacks. She is a beautiful woman with a snake’s body from the waist down and a large rattling tail. When she was just a spirit, she fell in love with a mortal man and managed to get to the mortal plane but her lover was repelled and betrayed her. So for years she has been sealed in the Qin-Shi Tomb, refining her skills and her plans to take over the mortal realm. Medusa is mostly magical with only a physical tail attack and has no summons. She gives you several status attacks such as fear, poison, and bind. Her most frustrating attack though is her petrify attack. At regular intervals, she shoots out balls of magic and then attacks with a radiating magical field that encases anyone within it in stone. Nothing can cure it or prevent it (except being attacked by a player) and it lasts a full minute. Wizards can use teleport and the Chinese skill Phantom is the best way to avoid this attack if you are aware and see it coming. Because Medusa’s “center” is in front of where her snake body rests against the ground, attacking her from behind means her range of attack is shorter than the front. Medusa has 183,535,199 hit points so even with many parties there, Medusa is not a quick kill. The kill is much sought after because she is most likely to drop the level 100 10 degree gears. Once Medusa dies, the teleport is reactivated and you can return to the center of B6. You may teleport to any level of the tomb or you can log out and log back in which will put you at the Serin gate entrance on B4.

Unique killing is a great way to pass time in Silkroad Online and gain some notoriety for yourself. People who get multiple kills become well known and are regarded as pro players. It’s considered bad form to kill very low level Uniques but there is no restriction on level or class, all Unique kills are granted on a damage basis only. Good luck and happy Unique hunting on the Silkroad.

Silkroad Online:Unique Monsters Part One

A major part of Silkroad Online is killing unique monsters.  Uniques are large sized monsters that spawn in each area on a regular time schedule.  They are larger than normal monsters and will show up as a purple dot on your radar gauge when you are within distance.  Uniques often have enhanced attacks and defenses and all of them, with the exception of BeakYung The White Viper and her mini-uniques, will spawn masses of regular, champion, elite and giant class minions to protect them as their hit points decrease.  Generally they spawn at regular intervals, when the Unique’s life is 80%, 60% and 20%.  If the Unique’s death is very quick, spawns can be skipped.

When a Unique spawns, its name and area are posted for the entire server to see and when they die, the name of it’s killer is also posted.  The kill goes to whomever gets the most damage, party first, then individual.  That means that your party as a whole has to out damage another party and then the person within that party who did the most damage gets the kill.  Because of this, it’s always a mad race to find the Unique before anyone else does and kill it to get your name displayed for all to see!  There are several tricks and tactics to killing them all and Ill outline some of them.  There are far more than what you will read here and experiences of your own will be the best teacher.

TigerGirl

TigerGirl, also known as “TG”, is the lowest level Unique at level 20.  She appears as a wild looking woman with a staff riding a giant white tiger.  Her worst attack is zombie status, which makes it so that your healing potions have the opposite effect, draining your life instead of increasing it.  Her defense and offense is mostly magical.  Her spawn area is in China around the Bandit Den west of Jangan, most often inside it at one of the four corners.  There is no real trick to defeating TigerGirl other than bring pills (I have known even high levels to die to zombie status) and be fast.  Because she is the lowest level Unique monster she dies the fastest, often within 30 seconds of spawning.  Higher levels will set up “spawn points” using reverse return scrolls from the item mall so that when they see her spawn, they are there in an instant.  If you get her alone, tow her to a side area as quickly as possible and kill her before someone else finds her!

Cerberus

Also known as “Cerb”, he is the second lowest level Unique at level 24.  He appears as a large, black, three-headed dog with a cloaked figure on its back.  Each head does a different kind of damage, including burn (dot), frozen (stuck in ice), frostbite (slowed movement speed) and poison (dot).  Almost all attacks are magical and defense is mostly magical.  A trick to finding him is when he is near you, the sky goes black and dark like a storm, so when that happens, watch your rador for his purple dot.  His spawn area is south of the city of Constantinople, on the other side of the river, most often spawning at crossroads or near them.  Like TG, Cerb is often “camped by high levels so if you find him, use aggro to drag him to a remote place.  Bring lots of status pills to counter his status effects.

Captain Ivy

Most often called Ivy for short, she is the next Unique in line at level 30.  Leading the Evil Order she is a tall, red haired pirate lady with a giant eagle summon over her head.  She attacks with a crossbow and all its skills of knockback, knockdown, stun (no movement), poison (dot) and burn (dot).  Her attacks are mostly magical with distance attacks and magical defenses, there is no stopping her kocking you flat or stunning you.  Her spawn area is in Asia Minor, west of the city of Samarkand and her most often spawn point is in the Amphitheater.  Because the spawn points are spread out over a larger distance then the lower level Uniques, Captain Ivy is anyone’s game and is least often camped among her lower level Unique counterparts.

Uruchi

Commonly known as “Uru” or “Uri” he is the level 40 Unique.  Uruchi is the general in charge of the Black Robbers and his spawn area is the Tarim Basin east of the city of Hotan, across the ferry.  He is a large man sitting astride a huge brown dragon and instead of breathing fire, he breathes dust.  Unlike most other Uniques, he has no status effects and his attacks aren’t that strong, but the hoards of robbers that he spawns are deadly!  If you aren’t a high level, the best way to kill Uru is to drag him around, getting his spawned summons stuck on buildings and trees and kill them.  All summons stay with their Unique so if you lead him close to a building, they get stuck and keep trying to follow him.  As long as the obstacle stays between the summon and Uru, you can kill them without them aggroing on you.  Uru’s most common spawn point is around the base of the Black Robber Den.

Isyutaru

Isyutaru, the level 60 Unique, is most often called “Isy” to those trying to find her.  She is the younger, spoiled daughter of a Himalayan ice god.  She fought with her sister, threw a tantrum and ended up running away to freezing an entire city.  She is an ice princess, frozen and shiny and has deadly magical attacks that rain ice from the sky, causing freeze (encased in ice) and frostbite (slowed movement).  She has no physical attack of her own, she leaves that to the giant yetis and more that she summons as she defends herself.  Bring pills to meet this princess and make sure you have “target support” enabled in your settings because when she summons, they are so large that she is completely hidden from view.  The drag and stick method of defeating her spawns also works, but because her most common spawns are on the Karakoram ice’s center, she is often killed by players power leveling their chars in this wide open space.

Lord Yarkan

Referred to as “LY” or “Yarkan” to most and he is level 80.  He is the Lord of the dead Niya empire and after his suicide, he wanders the remains of his once thriving lands.  LY is a giant, skeletal warrior in armor and he is pure physical in attack.  His best (or worst for YOU) move is his ground smash that knocks you back or down.  He also has a move similar to the warrior skill “Warcry” (like a skyward shout) and he only does that right before he spawns so you know when to run.  LY makes up for his lack of magical attack my spawning the Niya Shamans so watch out for their pure magical offensive.  Lord Yarkan spawns in the Taklmakan area north of Hotan.  His most common spawn point is in the Arena behind the Niya Remains.

Demon Shaitan

The Demon Shaitan is most commonly called Shaitan and is level 90.  He was once human and coorced a demon to aid him in overthrowing Roc, the ruler of Roc Mountain.  He failed and became one of Roc’s own minions.  He is a floating man with white hair and robes, carrying a staff and always accompanied by his green winged, demon counterpart fluttering behind him.  His attacks are mostly magical and so is his defense but his summons are the wild denizens of Roc Mountain, mostly all physical.  Be prepared for lots of stun status here!  Its a great boss for grabbing the last tier of 9th degree gear.  Shaitan is fast and his summons are fast, while most unques are slow moving.  His spawn area is small, the triangle of Heart, Wing and Claw Peak, but Shaitan doesnt stand around so look in all the corners for this wanderer.  His most common spawn point is just south of Claw Peak at the crossroads.

BeakYung, The White Viper

At level 105, this Unique is completely different from all the others and deserves an article all her own.  In the second part of Like a Boss:  A quick guide to Silkroad Online Unique monsters, I will take you through all the Guardians and complicated steps of reaching this difficult Unique deep in the Qin-Shi Tomb.

Silkroad Online Skill Farming

The game Silkroad Online has a very uncomplicated way of getting skills. Each skill is part of a skill tree, called a Mastery. Chinese characters have eight masteries, four weapon masteries and four force masteries. You need at least two; one weapon and one force. European characters have only six masteries, one for each class of character and you only need one. You can mix and match these masteries however you choose, taking some skills from each to build your unique set of skills. There are some restrictions to be aware of. Chinese characters have an ultimate cap of 300 mastery levels and European characters can have two mastery levels per character level. So for a Chinese character, any combination of masteries totaling up to 300 will work while a European character has to start with one mastery and build up as they go.

Now for the complicated part: Within those masteries are skills. Each skill costs an increasing amount of skill points. The higher the skill level, the more points it needs. You earn skill points while you train your character by killing monsters and doing quests. Each monster you kill gives you both experience and skill experience based on your level vs. the level of the monster and based on the level of your masteries. 400 skill experience totals up to one skill point, which can be confusing so I’ll only refer to Skill Points, or SP, from now on. If you just go out and train your character you will soon be unable to raise your skills and masteries for lack of SP. So what do you do? You farm.

Farming is the unofficial word for the method of gaining more skill points (SP) over experience points (XP). Here is how you do it: The greater the spread between your character’s level and the level of their highest mastery the more SP you gain over XP. As a rough example, if you are level 10 with level 10 masteries when you kill a monster you might get 100 XP and 1 SP. If you drop your Mastery to level 1, making a 9 level gap between your character level and your mastery level, you might get 1 XP and 10 SP per kill. That is by no means completely accurate, but that is basically how it works. The larger the gap, the more SP you earn but you also earn less XP. Another tip is, less skills and masteries, less farming. The picture here gives you an idea of how gapping works.

How do you know when to farm? You should do it at regular intervals while you train to make sure you get the skills you want. If you have a Seal of Star or greater weapon, it’s a good time to farm because your lowered skills will have some damage loss that the more powerful weapon can make up for. You should also make sure your gear is of good quality with decent stats to protect you. Plan ahead and buy a nice set one piece at a time so that when you are ready to farm, you have all that you need. You can also choose monsters that are easy to farm on because they have a good spawn rate, are intelligence or strength based, you have a repeating quest for or you just like the scenery where they are located. Scenery is important because you may be looking at it for a while.

To begin farming, you just need to make a gap between your character level and your mastery level. You can either stop leveling your masteries and slowly increase your level as the easiest method. You can plan ahead and do the “Cursed Heart Quest” available at any Potions dealer and lower your masteries all at once. It does cost gold and time to do it this way and you lose 20% of your SP as you use the Cursed Hearts to buy back your skills and masteries. Easiest way is to go with the item mall “Skill Potions” and lower them without the 20% loss of SP that the Cursed Heart Quest gives you. While a 9 gap is considered the golden rule, there are other ways to go about it. You can train at a constant three level gap and just gain small amounts at a time. Another way is to let your masteries get to a 5 gap, close them up and update your skills and then let them get behind to a 5 gap again. I call this “Leapfrog Farming”. These last two methods are good for maintaining 2 masteries. If you have more than two, you need to do the industrial strength 9 gap method. This gives you fast SP gain but even with a premium ticket, it will take you days to level just once.

Knowing how much to farm involves a lot of guessing, math or using a character builder online. http://nivlam.igamelegit.com has several tools to help you calculate. It pretty much depends on your build and how many masteries you wish to maintain. At high levels, some European characters need to farm 1 million SP to be able to level all their skills just from level 90 to 100. The higher the level, the more SP you need so trying to do all of your farming at low levels isn’t that efficient. You just don’t earn enough SP. If you have a group to party with regularly on monsters that are about ten levels higher than you, it’s a good time to farm. Because of the drop in XP gain, farming is slow and takes a lot of patience. Having a supportive group is probably your most important factor for a European class of character. Chinese characters don’t need to party but they do need more patience because solo leveling with a 9 gap can be downright gruesome and it’s what separates the hardcore pros from the weekend warriors.

Despite the hardships, farming is rewarding when you are done. You often hear people ask in Silkroad, “Are you FF?”. “FF” stands for Full Farmed and it’s one of the hallmarks of pro players. The number one excuse for dying in a player vs. player match is under farming so plan ahead and make sure you do your homework. Don’t overextend yourself with too many skills or masteries so you find yourself weaker and weaker as you level. It’s far better to have less masteries and skills that are farmed fully than to have many skills that are not. Silkroad Online is heavily based in PVP and strong skills are an essential factor in how well you stack up against your opponents. Even in group based PvP like jobbing, wars and Capture The Flag, support and offensive classes need every edge they can get to succeed.

Silkroad Online: Exploring the Tomb of the Qin-Shi Emperor

Silkroad Online is based on the historical trade network across the Asian continent. Set mainly in China and spanning mainly East and West from Louyang to Constantinople. Doing some quick reading, install and patch, I was taken for a spin in Silkroad Online’s latest expansion, Legend IV: Tomb of the Qin-Shi Emperor.

Legend IV is a high-level expansion with the Tomb of the Qin-Shi Emperor meant for players level 70 and above that launched on March 17, 2009. This expansion also increases the maximum character level to 100 with accompanying skills, new quests and quests updates for Roc Mountain. A new armor set, the 10th degree armor set, as well as a new outfit available in the online store. A new Scenario Quest system also debuted at the same time, giving players cinematic cut scenes to enjoy.

Online tours these days are conducted with a conference number dial in and not text chat, with or without VOIP chat. I had been provided with an account and a character. Logging in, I found a level 89 warrior at my disposal. Hanging around outside the tomb, I dispatched a few critters that tried to chomp on my butt and dialed in to meet the rest of my party. The PR folk and the good people of Joymax.

The Tour

This tour covered the Tomb of the Qin-Shi Emperor, a vast dungeon with six levels, each with different “camps”. You had to make your way through new mobs, mini-bosses and the final big nasty herself, Beak Yung.

The legend of the Qin-Shi Emperor begins with a love story. An ancient white viper, Beak Yung had fallen in love with a mortal and took human form. Unfortunately, a suspicious monk uncovered her secret and imprisoned her within a tower and sealed it with a holy seal. Years passed and war came to the Silkroads. The tower and the seal were destroyed and Beak Yung wandered the lands until she came across the Tomb of the Qin-Shi Emperor, hidden in the mountains east of Jangan. She thought to meditate and rest her soul, mind and body, protected by the fearsome beasts that filled the massive dungeon. That was not to be however, as greedy humans began to infiltrate the tomb, lured by rumors of weapons of legend and riches beyond their imaginings, all guarded by an ancient viper who’s death would make heroes of those that defeated her.

After playing with a few more temple guardians in the shape of monstrous Fu Dogs, I zoned into the temple and grouped up. To my surprise, our characters were not immune. We could fight our way in to see how far we could go, or make a run for it. The Healer bit it almost immediately, as did the Mage. After far too many TPWs, it was left to myself and Randall from Joymax driving Tangen, a bow-user with an immobilizing ice-spell taking me through the tomb. Kill a few mobs, dodge the others, enter a new area.

After dying a few times in an attempt to get up close enough to a mob for a good screenshot, forgetting that the moment I stopped, the bunch of mobs trailing me would dog-pile on and prevent any good screenshots, I gave it up and just followed Tangen through, running around in large circles, drawing mobs away from his corpse when he died so he could resurrect and resisting the temptation to stop. It sure would have been nice to have some AE skills.

The Take Home

The dungeon, I was warned at the start of the tour, contained no passive mobs. Everything in it will attack you and it is definitely a party dungeon. A great one for a dungeon crawl as it is designed in that fashion, with rest areas for the party to regroup that were pretty much safe unless a media tour group trained a bunch of nasties in. Luckily, the mob aggression in Silkroad Online is far more forgiving than some MMOs of old (EQ).

Visually, the dungeon is quite stunning. The vastness of the caverns, the scale of the architecture, the intricate textures and details of mobs were impressive, and I wanted to go as far as I could, take as many screenshots as I could, kill a few more mobs… find the bosses and see Beak Yung.

“Wow… you guys have gotten further in than any other party so far.” A member who had fallen behind and dropped out, stated. I flexed my uber warrior skills. Not. But we did work well together, Tangen and I, skirting mobs and dispatching a few when that simply made life easier so we could look or try to look at some feature or other in game.

“With the level cap raised to 100, of course we have new skills, new weapons and armor. The drops in the dungeon are really pretty nice.”

Unfortunately, in the hour we had allocated for the tour, we had not even made it up to the higher levels of the dungeon, much less visited Beak Yung in her lair - which was a pity. So we’ll have to make do with the artwork that Joymax has provided and the few Screenshots I managed to take while trying to run through the dungeon, and without so many mobs on top of me you could not see anything but their bodies.

 INTRODUCTION

Caravanning is known to be one of the best ways to create profitable gold. Other known methods are picking up the small amounts of gold that monsters drop as you kill them, selling items you find on the fields, buying/selling items in town *stalls*, or gambling with alchemy.

Caravanning is the journey of delivering goods from one town to the next. There are three jobs that participate in these caravans Merchants, Thieves and Hunters.

There are different levels of caravans. They are labeled by “stars” 1 star to 5 stars. These stars are based on the value of the caravan. 1 star caravans are meant for first-timers. Player thieves cannot attack 1 star caravans, however, the game generates computer thieves that attack you. These are lower leveled CPU thieves and they are fairly easy to kill. Keep in mind, the game generates CPU thieves for all star caravans. Meaning, you should be careful if there is a 5 star caravan on the road ahead of you, take another route because their CPU thieves could easily wipe you out. This is a common mistake that new caravans discover the hard way so BE CAREFUL

 REQUIREMENTS

 Level 20 character.
Good amt of gold. I recommend no less than 30k.
 1 Job Item.

You must be level 20 before you can begin caravanning. You generally want to have a stable amount of gold before you begin since you are investing your money and there is no guarantee that you will make it to the other town on your first go. Personally, I would not recommend caravanning until you are about level 25-30 or unless you have a high leveled friend who can protect you on your journey. As a low level merchant, thieves could kill you fairly easily. As a low level thief, merchants and/or hunters could kill you fairly easily. As a low level hunter, thieves could kill you and your merchant fairly easily.

On top of being level 20, you need to buy your job’s clothes. Each job has a “job item”. These are clothes that you equip, and doing so, you become whatever job the item is for. Example Black Suit is the Thief item when you equip it, you become a thief. Yes, this means that you can switch between jobs. You do not have to be stuck with one job all the time. You can be a merchant one day and a thief the next. You can buy these items in their designated guilds merchant guild, hunter guild or thief guild. Map is available here. http://www.shimpedia.net/sro/index.html

When you are a merchant/hunter/thief, you do not turn into a murder for killing another merchant/hunter thief. If you kill someone who isn’t wearing a job item, then it is considered a murder. You DO lose your normal 2 percent exp for dying during a caravan.

 JOBS

Merchant. Your goal as a merchant is to transport goods from one town to the next. You buy certain items for cheap in one town and take them to another town to sell for profit. http://www.shimpedia.net/sro/uses.html Here is a list of items you can transport. It lists their buy price and their sell price. Notice what a big difference in profit The further away the town, the more profit you make. Neat, huh?

Merchants increase their merchant level upon delivery of goods. The higher your merchant level is, the more value each star trade is worth. Bascially, a level 1 merchant would be able to trade 10k in items on a 1 star trade. A level 4 merchant would be able to trade 30k in items on a 1 star trade. This applies for all star trades. **The numbers used were just examples, they are not the in-game values**

Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it’s not as easy as you’d like it to be……

Thieves. Your goal as a thief is to kill Merchants and steal the goods during their transport. Ah, the easy way out. Why bother to go through the hassle of transporting goods between towns if you could just steal them from other people and make a 100 percent profit?

After you steal the goods, you don’t sell them to the regular town NPC. You have to sell them at the thief town as “stolen goods”. Remember, you didn’t pay for a cent of this booty so you’re gaining much more than you would as a merchant.

Seems easy enough, this has got to be the best job, right? WRONG. There is definitely a downside to running against the law.

Thieves on SRO can raise their thief level by gaining experience received from attacking merchants, transports and hunters. When the thief level is increased, attacks done to merchants, transports and hunters become stronger. Thief levels are categorized into 7 grades.

When thieves steal goods, or kill merchants, transports and hunters, “thief penalty points *TPP* are accumulated. When your TPP goes over 3000, your status turns into “wanted status”. When this happens, you turn into a highly coveted bounty. Hunters can kill you even if you are not wearing your thief clothes and they receive a hefty reward for it. You are not safe ANYWHERE. Well, you cant get killed in towns but people will follow you around. Its like being a murderer, people want to kill you.

When a hunter catches a wanted thief, the thief receives a penalty and cannot play any jobs. To remove the wanted penalty, thieves must pay the hunter guild NPC and a set period of time must pass in order to play a job again.

Obviously, thieving is discouraged but it’s still an option, haha.

Hunters. Your goal as a hunter is to protect the merchant from hostile thieves. Most merchants hire hunters to protect them on their caravan. There is no point in spending all their money on items, if they can’t even make it to the other town without getting robbed In which case, they would lose money and make zero profit. I think that’s why they make the buy price so low, haha. It may take a few tries to succeed. That is why the hunters are so valued.

Your JOB level exp is gained when you succeed in your job goal. Merchants, delivering items to town. Thieves, robbing caravans, killing merchants/hunters. Hunters, killing thieves.

So with that said, you can pretty much figure out why they call this the “Triangular Conflict”. Each job has a goal that interferes with the others’. Like rock, paper scissor there is no “best” one since each job finds conflict with the others. It’s up to your personal preference. That’s why this guide is here, to help tip the scale for you.

 TRANSPORT VEHICLES

Each caravan is required to have a transport vehicle of some sort. You can view the available transports http://www.shimpedia.net/sro/uses.html here. Each transport has different stats. Some have much more HP than others, which is helpful when you’re being attacked since they will take more effort to kill. Some carry more items than others, which would maximize your profits but they usually walk slower. The price of each transport varies depending on these stats.

You should also buy some transport potions. These potions heal your transport during/after an attack. These potions are available in small or large packs. You can purchase these from the stable keeper. Small, 190 gold, recovers 360 HP. Large, 400 gold, recovers 660 HP. Be careful though, you do not want to spend so much money on potions that you do not gain any profit from the caravan. Your goal is always to maximize your profits.

Also, thieves are required to have a transport when they take robbed goods to thief town.

 TRANSPORT ITEMS

You can find a list of the Transport items and their value/description http://www.shimpedia.net/sro/uses.html here.

Unfortunately, I do not know how much these sell for in thief town. If anyone finds out, could you let me know so I could add the info for all to read? Thanks I’ll do more research later.

 ANALYSIS

The downside to caravanning is that you are not hardcore leveling. Your goal is to get to the designated town without getting killed so stopping to kill the monsters in the area to gain a few skill/stat points is not very beneficial. But your wallet will be smiling at you so whichever seems better to you.

If you prefer to level and such, the http://www.silkroadonline.net/gameinfo/quest_china.asp quests should be good for you between levels. If you would like to make lots of money *and have fun while you do it*, caravanning is just for you.

Caravanning could be really fun sometimes and it can be very frustrating other times. I strongly recommend that you play with your friends, guildmates or people that you TRUST. I have read many caravan horror stories about people who were tricked and scammed during their transport. People can be very deceiving you might hire a hunter but they will turn around, put on a black suit and rob your caravan. And other times people will tell you that they are low leveled just to turn around and rob you later. I don’t want to scare anyone, just BE CAREFUL *I can’t stress this enough*.

Caravanning is so heavily involved with being careful. One mistake and you could lose your entire caravan full of expensive loot.

 TIPS

Avoid the main road. Since you can’t trust any strangers, just avoid the main road. Try to find another way to get to town that you think would have less traffic. It’s better to avoid seeing people than to fight them and worry about losing everything you have unless, of course, you enjoy the PVP. In which case, it’s probably best to be a thief so you could do the hunting, haha.

BE CAREFUL *Do you hate me yet?*

Review the town http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t230 maps online. This way, you know exactly where you need to go and you aren’t running around town wondering where you should be. It’s just a better way to be prepared.
In fact, review all the http://www.silkroadonline.net/gameinfo/ar_area.asp maps. It will help you in the long run.

Bring return scrolls and lots of potions/universal pills. Nothing sucks more than dying only a few feet away from town.

Silkroad Alchemy Guide

Not to be outdone by other Alchemy Guides, I felt it was necessary for me to post a complete guide to Alchemy.

To some, Alchemy is considered to be a “rich mans game.” Although this is not entirely true, to be a successful alchemist, wealth is definitely a factor.

Before we get into any of the processes or procedures of Alchemy, I believe it is important to go over the basics. In order to open up the Alchemy window, you may either press the “Y” Key, or press the “A” Key and right click on the button that says Alchemy. For our purposes, I believe that it is most convenient to only use the “Y” Key method.

Once you have the Alchemy window open you will notice several things. On the far left, there is a single slot. To its right are eight separate slots. Above, you will find two tabs, one reading “Material Processing,” and the other saying “Att. Enhancement.” At the bottom you will find two buttons “Fuse All” and “Fuse.” I have found that it is better to only use the Fuse All function, simply for convince sake. These slots, tabs, and buttons are used solely for carrying out the functions of Alchemy.

Now that we have established a basic understanding of the Alchemy window, it is time to learn about Elements. Elements come in four different types Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire and 8 different levels. 1-8 Elements are used in the production of Magic Stones using different Alchemy Tablets. However, before we get into that lets take a closer look at Elements and How to obtain them.

As you defeat different foes, you will notice that they drop different things, such as gold piles and various assortments of Boxes and Bags. In particular, we will focus on the large bag drop, which are called “Alchemy Materials.” These Alchemy Materials can be disassembled in order to receive Elements. A closer look at each Alchemy Material will tell you what kind of elements you will receive by dissembling it, and their respective levels and quantities. In order to disassemble an Alchemy Material, you must first obtain a “Void Rondo.” You can purchase Void Rondos from the town Grocery Seller. They cost 20 Gold each, and can be obtained in bundles as large as 5,000. I believe 100 Void Rondos is a suitable amount of which to buy.

Once you have both the Void Rondos and Alchemy Materials, you can press the “Y” Key. Under the Material Processing tab, first place the Void Rondos in the slot to the far right. Now, you may fill the remaining eight Slots with your Alchemy Materials. Once you are finished you may press Fuse All. As the procedure goes on, your Void Rondos and Alchemy Materials will disappear and be replaced with elements.

Also worth mentioning is the use of the Destroyer Rondos. Although I severely discourage the use of Destroyer Rondos, they do deserve a place in my guide. Like the Void Rondo, Destroyer Rondos may be purchased at the Grocery Seller. They cost a hefty amount of 400 Gold each, and can also be obtained in bundles of 5,000. In order yo use a Destroyer Rondo, first place it in the left slot under the Material Processing tab. Then, in the opened slot, you may place any sort of wearable equipment. Once you press Fuse All, the Equipment will be destroyed, and you will get some elements in return.

Now that you have a significant amount of Elements it is time to present you with your first big decision. You may either choose to sell these newly obtained Elements or use them to produce a Magic Stone. Based on an Elements type and level, it can be worth anywhere between 100 and 2000 Gold However, this guide is meant to teach you ALL the components of Alchemy, so we will continue to work.

Magic Stones are used to upgrade or change your equipments stats. You can do many different things to customize your items using Magic Stones, provided a seemingly endless array of opportunities. In order to produce a Magic Stone, you must first obtain a tablet. While killing monsters, you may sometimes receive a drop looking somewhat like an orange sphere. These orange spheres are actually called “Alchemy Tablets” which can be combined with elements to produce a Magic Stone. There are more then 30 different Types of tablets, each with a specific purpose. Alchemy Tablets are sorted into three different types Ruby, Jade, and Sapphire.

Ruby Tablets are used to change an items’ stat percentage. You can view an items’ stats by holding your mouse over the item. Anything written in white font can be changed using a Ruby Tablet.

Jade Tablets are used to add attributes to an item. Added attributes can be found at the bottom of the Items’ Description. These added attributes are often referred to as “Blues” by many players, and often times make the difference between a good and a bad item.

Sapphire Tablets when combined with elements produce “Alchemy Potions.” These Alchemy Potions can increase your characters moving speed for a limited amount of time.

Before you create a Magic Stone, take a close look at your tablet. The Tablets level corresponds with the degree of the item of which you which to enhance. Ex Level 3 Tablets can only upgrade Level 3 Items.

Once you have determined this, it is time for you to create your Magic Stone. Open up the Alchemy window. Under the Material Processing tab, place the tablet you wish to use in the left slot. In the remaining four slots, place the elements required to make your stone. You can view the requirements by holding the mouse over the tablet of choice. Make sure that you have enough of each element, and that they are the right levels. Once you are ready, you may press Fuse All.

Once again, you are faced with another hard decision. You may either choose to sell your new Magic Stone, or you can keep it and upgrade your equipment with it.

When you look at the stone you will notice a Attribute Assimilation rate. This can be 0, 10, 20, or 30 percent. 0 percent Magic Stones only exist for Astral, Immortal, Steady, and Luck. Attribute Assimilation is the probability that more then one attribute is change. This can be good if your item has bad stats, however if your item has very good stats then you don’t want to risk using Magic Stones with high Attribute Assimilation.

Now that you have established a decent understanding of Attribute Assimilation, it is time to upgrade your item. Once more, take a look at your stone to see what type of equipment it corresponds to. In order to use the Magic Stone you must have an item of the corresponding type and level. Once you are ready, open up this Alchemy window. Unlike Alchemy Procedures you have done in the past, the Magic Stone enhancement occurs under the Att. Enhancement tab. Place the magic stone in the left slot, and the equipment of choice in the opened slot. Before you press fuse all I will warn you, not all the results are pleasant. When you are ready, press the Fuse All button. You may be very surprised with your results.

Elixirs are a very valuable item. Many players sell them as soon as they get them, because they are worth a large sum of money. However, many players are not aware of the benefits using an Elixir can provide you. When you successfully use an Elixir, your item will be granted an additional plus 1.

There are four different types of Elixirs Weapon, Protector, Shield, and Accessory. In order of value. Each can be used to grant additional pluses to your item. Before we get into how to use an Elixir, I will address some things you should definitely know.

First off, before using an Elixir, you definitely should purchase a Lucky Powder. These can be obtained at any Grocery Seller. Lucky Powders increase the chances of the pluses being successfully added. Also, items with blues such as Lucky, Astral, Immortal, and Steady can be very helpful in use of Elixirs. Read on to learn more about these attributes.

Once you have obtained your elixir, as well as your corresponding item, and the correct level of Lucky Powder, you can proceed onwards. First open up the Alchemy window under the Att. Enchantment tab. Place your item in the far left slot. Next you place the Elixir of choice. Finally, place the lucky powder in the opened slot. Once again, before you press fuse all, please take note that there are serious risks involved with this process. Should the Elixir fail, the value of the item will reset. Unless the item is plus 4 or greater with an Astral attribute. There is also a risk of the item being destroyed in the case of the item failing when it is above plus 5. Immortal attribute can help to prevent this. In addition, if the Elixir enhancement fails when the item is plus 4 or above, there is a chance that it receives a permanent durability decrease. With this in mind, please consider before you take action. Once you have made up your mind, press the fuse all button and hope for the best. Many times I have found that it is easier then you think.

While we are on the topic of ’s I figured this is a good time to address SoX. SoX is an abbreviation for any item that possesses a SoS, SoM, or SoSun attribute. These attributes each grant an item amazing bonuses. Their values are as follows

 Seal of Star Plus 6 / 7

 Seal of Moon Plus 10

 Seal of Sun Plus 15

Obviously, items of this power are very hard to come by. Although there is no way to add these attributes, SoX items can be both purchased, and obtained from drops. They tend to be extremely rare, even in SoS form. From what I understand, you can play for years without getting a SoSun drop.

Unlike most Magic Stones, lucky stones can not be obtained from Tablets. In fact there is no such way to obtain a Lucky Tablet. Instead, you may use Destroyer Rondos to destroy items that are degrees 6, 7, and 8. In addition to receiving elements, you also have a very slight chance of getting a Lucky Stone in the process. Lucky Stones are an attribute like the item Lucky Powder that increases the chance of success while using an Elixir.

Certain Magic Stones can only be obtained by purchasing them with Silk via the in game Item mall. Both Immortal and Astral Magic stones are only available from this sort of Purchase. Press the F10 function key in game from more information on this matter.

My mission was to provide a fully functional and accurate guide to Alchemy so that everyone could establish a good understanding of how Alchemy works. I was actually planning on providing a complete table of Alchemy Tablets and there particular functions, as well as several screen shots to help give you an idea for those of you who need further instruction. However, with the new modified forum, I am not familiar with anyway in which to post pictures. In spite of all this, I am now experimenting with HyperCam and Windows Movie Maker to create a video guide showing exactly how everything works. In addition, if possible, I pray that a GM will somewhere along the line sticky this so that it can be readily accessed at any time.

Silkroad choosing the character build that is best for you

this guide is for newbies

pros can look at this to for extra advise

 STR and INT

on SilkRoad there are 2 basic builds to look into the first is full STR witch will make your character max out its HP, physical attack, and physical defence. Second is full INT you max out your MP, magic attack and magic defence. Once you pick your build stick with it all the way. adding INT to a full STR will weaken your character and vise versa

 FULL STR

if you want to be full STR or TANKERS as people call them you must put all your Stat points on STR. Also use garment for your character. you will not need the extra physical defence of armor and the MP percent reduce will help with your low MP. without magic to back up your attacks your power will be low but with your high HP it will be hard for monsters to kill you. building STR characters is fun and easy at beginning levels but the low attack will slow down your grinding at higher levels. If you are a silk buyer then you may want to get a repair hammer. You will find your equipment running out of durability faster than you run out of potions

 FULL INT

to be full INT or NUKERS as people call them, put all stat points on INT. Armor is best for this build to defend your low HP and low physical defence. Full INT players focus on their powerful attacks to kill monsters fast before taking too much damage. building a full INT will be hard at low levels do to your low HP, but after level 30 you will get to use your nuke skills and attack at a distance allowing you to grind easier and level faster. If you are a silk buyer then you may want to buy the 1000 MP potions. Even with the max MP you will find yourself burning trough MP potions fast.

 HYBRIDS

hybrids are players who mix INT and STR together, there are 3 types and only one is good in the long run

 HYBRID type 1
 INT 50 / STR 50

going fifty fifty on STR and INT is some thing new players do often. This is a short term gain long term loss, this build is only recommended for new players who want to try out all the skills and weapons available to silkroad and then starting over with a new character once they decide on what weapon and skills they like. this is also a good build for those who dont spend much time playing because they are too busy with their lives

 HYBRID type 2
 INT 20 / STR 80

STR players give up some HP and attack power for more MP so they can use more skills. BAD IDEA this will create a weak character that will leave you frustrated with how often you get killed

 HYBRID type 3
 INT 80 / SRT 20

INT players give up some attack power for extra HP. difficult to make yet if you find the right balance for your character you can make a strong character. Not recommended for players new to the game

 Chose your weapon

 BLADE

possibly the weakest weapon on silkroad but is ideal for full STR. A one handed weapon allows you to carry a shield witch will help defend your HP and as a full STR this will make your character a real Die Hard Tanker. you can spend hours grinding on monsters and not have to worry about stocking up on HP potions. However you will find your self returning to town to repair your blade. be on the look out for a tab of mastery to make a stone that will increase the durability on your blade

 GlAVIE

well balanced weapon for full STR users. It is a two handed weapon so you can not use a shield but with your high HP and physical defence as a full STR you can afford to go with out the shield for the extra attack power. Like the blade you will find your self needing repair more often then healing your self so try to upgrade it with a stone of master when you can

 SWORD

well balanced weapon for full INT users. the use of a shield will help protect your low HP and weak physical defence. Due to the high magical attack of the sword you will use nuke skills more often than the sword skills. Because of this your sword durability will not go down as fast as the blade or glavie. You will only need to go to town to refill your MP potions.

 SPEAR

strongest weapon in silkroad and ideal for full INT players. With your nuke skills backed up with your spears max magical attack power you will be able to 1 hit KO most monsters for your level. but this only works if you fight monsters 1 on 1. without the shield to protect your low HP you are vulnerable to getting swarmed by monsters. when this happens it is best to run away till the monsters split up so you can pick them off one at a time. A full INT with spear may make you a god among the monsters but there is great risk in PvP. beware of full STR and blade users, with their high HP and blocking ability they usually survive your first strike allowing them to hack off your low HP before you are able to charge up the next nuke. to help prevent blocking used by shields use a Stone of Discipline on your spear for block parry ratio

 BOW

many people ague whether this weapon is good for full INT of STR. truth is they are both right. It depends on the level of your character. at low levels it is ideal for full INT users than switch to sword or spear at level 30
as full STR best to use blade or glavie first and switch to bow at level 31. be sure to stock up on cursed hearts to transfer the SP when you switch weapons

what skills are good for you?

choosing your skills depend on the build and weapons of your character

 BICHEON Swordmanship

as full STR with blade you will need this to be your primary skill tree. as full INT with sword only a small amount of skills are needed for most of your attacks will come from the force skills. The passive skill is a must for full INT for it will help you block attacks

 HEUKALl Spearmanship

as full STR with Glavie this is your primary skill tree. Full INT users with the spear will probably never use these skills after they learn the nuke skills at level 30. the passive skill is a must for full INT users to add the extra HP

 PACHEON Bowmanship

weather your full INT or STR you will need all of these skills if you are a bow user

 COLD Force Mastery

weakest magic attack making it good for full STR users. the added effect of slowing your enemy down or freezing them all together makes it ideal for bow users. as full INT you should make this your secondary force skill tree to take advantage of the frost guard and cold armor skills

 LIGHTNING Force Mastery

strong magic attack with the ability to attack multiple enemies. with the exception of the nuke at level 30 the extra attack caused by the thunder force is very low so it is only good for getting a monsters attention making this useful for blade users. a lot of players regardless of build like to use this as their secondary skill tree for the Piercing Force skills and Wind Walk skills

 FIRE force Mastery

strongest magic attack for both STR and INT. the Flame Wave skills are most popular for the full INT users. full STR should make this secondary to use the Flame Body Skills, Fire Protection Skills, and Flame Devil Force Skills

 FORCE Power Mastery

best if you like to help support other characters as a healer. Ideal for full STR characters

Silkroad Pure and hybrid INT sword and spear guide

Since the number of questions about INT based builds has been rising lately, I figured I would write a guide. I have played a lvl 64 pure INT spear nuker, and a lvl 77 hybrid sword and shield nuker, so I do have a bit of experience with the build.

INT based builds are usually called nukers, because their main attacks consist of the distance attack spells like the Flame Wave Series and the Thunderbolt Force Series. They can be so called pure INT nukers, which means all points go into INT, or hybrids, which means some points are placed into STR to sacrifice some damage power in return for more HP.

 HYBRID
If you choose to play a hybrid, remember that your main damage source is still your magical attacks. As such I would put between 20 and 40 points into STR for a sword nuker and between 40 and 60 points into STR for a spear nuker.

 WEAPONS
INT based characters use either sword and shield or spear, because these weapons carry more magical damage than the STR based weapons blade and glaive. Bows are usually used by STR based builds as well, since most bow skills are physical, and because bow users rely heavily on the physical based crits. A lot of nukers will use a bow up to level 30 though, since the first nukes become available at level 30.

The choice between sword and shield or spear depends mostly on your playing style. A spear deals more damage, and the shield gives you a better protection, so you receive less damage. A shield also gives you yet another item to increase your INT and STR using the blue stats, and it blocks some of your opponents attacks. If you use a shield, it is important to get one with a high block rate, since the block rate determines the chance that an attack will be blocked. Crits on weapons are of no importance to pure INT builds, and of relatively little use to a hybrid build, so do not spend too much gold on a weapon with a high crit. High magical attack power and magical reinforce however is very important for your weapon.

 EQUIPMENT
Since an INT packs less HP than a STR build, and because INT users already get extra magical defence from their INT, most INT builds tend to wear at least protector, and most wear armor. At low level however, the difference between armor and garments is small, so you can safely use garments upto 4th to 6th degree, and switch to armor at some point in your 3X or 4X levels. Try to get a lot of INT, STR, and HP on your equipment. You will need the INT to increase your damage, and the STR and HP to improve your low HP, and for hybrids to improve your physical damage. After level 60, it is not unlikely that about 40 percent of your HP total comes from your equipment.

 SKILLS
With the ever increasing level cap and the mastery cap remaining at 300, many nukers now find out they have to start thinking about 2-3 masteries rather than the 4 used upto recently. At level 80 you can afford to have 4 masteries, but you will be doing a LOT of skill deleveling when the 90 and 100 level caps arrive, which will cost you a small fortune. Alternatively, you could focus on 2 or 3 trees from the start, and save yourself a lot of SP farming and skill deleveling.

For your trees, you have the following options. You yourself will have to chose what type of nuker you wish to be.
bicheon - very useful for sword nukers
heuksal - very useful for spear nukers
cold - for physical defence, freezing, wide nukes, and snow shield
lightning - for parry, fast walking, strong nukes, and magical attack bonus
fire - for magical defence, effect immunity, strong nukes, and detecting stealth
I have left out force, since very people are willing to hang on to it with the level cap increases. I am one of the few remaining people that can res level 80 people on Troy.

My personal preferences for strong builds are as followed [take into account that following them at each level cap would require a LOT of skill deleveling].
 level 80 cap - bicheon/heuksal 80, cold 60, fire 80, lightning 80
 level 90 cap - bicheon/heuksal 90, cold 60, fire 60, lightning 90
 level 100 cap - bicheon/heuksal 100, cold 60, fire 40, lightning 100
Why do I drop fire rather than lightning? IMHO, the stronger nukes of fire cannot compensate for the loss of the magical attack increase skill in lightning.

 BICHEON
 - Smashing Series - NO.
 - Chain Sword Attack Series - Nice to have, especially the Lightning Chain that gives bleed, impotent, and diversion is very good. Does more damage than a nuke, but only hits one enemy.
 - Shield Technique Series - YES. This short-lived huge increase in physical defence or block rate has saved me many a time.
 - Blade Force Series - NO for pure INT, optional for hybrid.
 - Hidden Blade Series - YES for hybrid and PvPing pure INT, optional for non-PvPing pure INT.
 - Killing Heaven Blade Series - Take it if you take Hidden Blade Series.
 - Sword Dance Series - NO for pure INT, optional for hybrid.
 - Shield Protection Series - YES.

 HEUKSAL
 - Annihilating Blade Series - NO.
 - Fanning Spear Series - Optional, I do not have a lot of experience with it.
 - Heuksal Spear Series - Yes for hybrid, NO for pure INT.
 - Soul Departs Series - YES. The stun of this skill is very handy.
 - Ghost Spear Attack Series - YES for hybrid, optional for pure INT.
 - Chain Spear Attack Series - YES, especially the multi enemy hit of the last chain is nice.
 - Flying Dragon Spear Series - Optional for hybrid, NO for pure INT.
 - Cheolsam Force Series - YES

 COLD
 - Cold Force Series - Optional, it is the weakest imbue of all forces, but freezing and frost bite can be handy.
 - Frost Guard Series - YES.
 - Cold Wave Attack Series - NO.
 - Frost Wall Series - NO. Activation is too slow to be really effective.
 - Frost Nova Series - YES. Very handy to slow the battle around you down.
 - Snow Storm Series - Weak but wide nuke, optional.
 - Snow Shield Series - YES. Considering you use a lot of MP for your nukes though, I would not get more than 40 percent for hybrid and 50 percent for pure INT. 30 percent is already very helpful though.
 - Cold Armor Series - YES.

 LIGHTNING
This tree has no weak skills for nukers. The Thunder Force Series [imbue] is optional if you already have the fire imbue, but other than that … get them all.

 FIRE
 - Fire Force Series - YES. This is the strongest imbue.
 - Fire Shield Series - YES. This can make you immune to freeze, shock, poison, etc.
 - Flame Body Series - Optional for hybrid, NO for pure INT.
 - Fire Protection Series - YES.
 - Fire Wall Series - NO. Activation is too slow to be really effective.
 - Flame Wave Series - YES. These are your nukes.
 - Fire Combustion Series - YES. Only useful against players, so if you never job or PvP I guess you can leave it be.
 - Flame Devil Force Series - Optional.

Silkroad overall view by an experianced MMORPG player

First of all I wanna start with saying couple of things about my self.
Im 21 years old and I have spent most of my time enjoying MMO/MMORPGS like Muonline,Lineage,Diablo,Fallout and many more old school rpgs.
Recently I have left WoW after achieving every single goal in the game and being extremly bored of the game since theres nothing else to do.So I decided to start a new mmorpg since my friends keep talking about SRO 24/7 I thought I might give it a try.
———————————-
It has been 2 weeks since I started the game(I tried it last year but just got me depressed by the login tries)So far I leveld a Bard/Cleric Warrior/Bard and atm im leveling a Warrior/Rogue on Odin (lvl58 atm).
I have researched every single aspect of the game from lvl 1 to 100 and read forum guides etc.
Now I wanna talk about the games Minuses and Pluses.
———————————–
Pluses.
Has an excitingly cool looking graphics.
Realy focuses on Hybrid classes and gives you the option to experiance diffrent playstyle.
Option to play many classes.
Fun events.
Avatar outfit.
Unique Creature Kill msg system that basicly can make you famous.
Fortress Defend System.
And thats about it I believe.
———————————–
Minuses
Very poor interface.
No options to bind skills into various keys so you dont have to spam F1 F2 F3 F4 and click like a mad man.
Unbalanced PvE system (Everyone plays Wizard mainly because they can do most dmg at high levels thats anything but balanced…)
Potion system that makes no sense (Europe 15 sec and for Chinise chars 3? so ur saying that Europe is WAYYY to op than China ?)
No name restrictions as in (Allowing names like ___lolololIpwnu___ or jheqhrqwey)
Stall system that only works in towns.(It could have been made into a linked network)
Very poor PvP system.
Almost no Item seperation between a PvEr and a PvPer(only the skill setup)
Poor Quest system which makes the game pretty much a pure grinding mmorpg.
No Ingame support by gms at all.
Sorry but Joymax does not currently offer item or character restoration. Please re view the Operation Policy section 4.1 and 4.2.(Heres an example : your level 100 you get hacked your char gets deleted you get no recovery /jumpoffabridge /wrist)
And last but not least the averege player dosnt get a spot in the server thanks to its overhelming and bot populated traffic.
******************
Overall:
The game looks good because of the options you get with the classes and the cool graphics of weapons/sets
But as far as that is a good thing it dosnt motivate you enough to go high level with all this boring and endless Sp or LvL Grinding.
Great seperation between the Averege Player and the Premium buyer Player.
Server capacity a problem.
==============
I have been playing on Odin and I havnt met more than 1 person that speaks fluently English its full of Turkish/Egypt/Botting people.
My question is what is the game going to become for future what do the devs plan for SRO in future is anything going to change in the near future?
Will the game get anymore balanced ?
And will the botting software finaly be detected by the GameGuard.
*******************
Edit:From what I read on the forums Joymax dosnt pay attention to any of the forum topics regarding the rights of the averege player perhaps we can get some info on that as well…
