Conquer online Guide To Mining

There is no such thing as gem spots.
-I have mined a lot of gems in my time (I never kept exact count).
700-800 normal gems
200+ Refined gems
10 Super gems (x3 SMG, x2 SDG, x2 SKG, x2 SRG, SVG, SFG)
That is an estimate, not including the countless gems I’ve lost to mine pkers.
-I only use One miner 90% of the time.
-I usually mine 24/7 (with 3 breaks a week for server maintenance).
-I’ve never used a mine bot of any kind.I hope that was enough to convince you, I know what I’m talking about.

Choosing a mine:
Ok well I guess the first place to start, would be choosing a mine. The mine you should choose greatly depends on what gems exactly you want to mine.

*TC (Twin City) mines, lvl 15 character requirement, are for Fury gems and tortoise gems.
Yes, you can also mine dragon and phoenix gems in TC but the only reason you should mine in TC is for those furies and tortoise gems.

*PC (Phoenix Castle) mines, lvl 40 character requirement, are my favorite mines, they are relatively easy to get to and can be Very rewarding.
I go to PC mines for mining dragon, phoenix, rainbow & kylin gems.

*AC (Ape Mountian) mines, lvl 70 character requirement, are fairly similar to DC mines, only harder to get to. Possibly a better choice, over DC, if you’re concerned about getting pked but I personally prefer DC mines.
You can go there to mine moon and violet gems.

*DC (Dessert City) mines, lvl 70 character requirement, are like AC mines only better, you get more gold ore there and it’s a quicker journey to get there.
You need to use the Conductress to teleport you to Mystic castle and then you’re just a short hop away from the mines.
I go to DC mines for moon, violet gems and gold ore.

*MZ (Met Zone) mine, lvl 40 character requirement, is arguably better than PC mines for actually mining gems but it is a pain to get in and out of MZ, so most people don’t bother.
You can get the same exact gems as PC mines over there, dragon, phoenix, rainbow & kylin gems.

*Jail mines in TC, lvl 15 character requirement, is a PK free area, if you mine there, you will be killed a lot.
You can also get the same exact gems here as PC and MZ mines, dragon, phoenix, rainbow & kylin gems.

All the above considered, I usually mine in PC or DC, the only time I go to another mine, is to go to the TC mines and I only go there for the occasional fury and tortoise gems. I used to go to the other mines but found them to be not as good.

How to mine:
Now for the actual tips for mining.

1. Avoid mining in popular mining spots, they are the first place mine pkers come to look. The most important thing about mining, is keeping your miner alive, if you place your miner in a spot where a mine pker is likely to miss it, then you have a greater chance of keeping your miner alive. I never mine against the walls because most mine pkers will just hop around the outer section of the mines. I try to mine someplace off-center, at least a screen and a half away from the wall and not to close to the center.

2. Never move your miner! If you can avoid it, of course. The only time I move my miner is if it gets killed, logged off or after server maintenances.
The main reason for not moving your miner, is to avoid renewing the ore flow and avoid mining with a full bag of ores. The longer you mine in one spot without moving, the less frequently you mine ores. The less frequently you mine ores, the less you need to empty your bag. If you dump ores where you stand for about an hour without moving, you can keep your miner mining over night, without it filling its bag with ores. I usually mine 2 gems while I sleep and surprisingly, almost every Super gem I’ve mined, was while I was sleeping.

3. Check on your miner as often as you can. I try checking on it every 15-30 minutes, when I’m near the computer. When you check on your miner, you get an opportunity to drop your ores, check to see if you mined a gem and yes, check if you’re miner is dead too.

4. Keep a character logged off next to your miner, preferably a lvl 40 or 70 water tao. This is probably one of the most useful things a miner can have, You can use this character for a number of things.
-Trade ores to this character if you need to empty your bag from ores in a rush.
-Trade any gem you mine over to this character and log it back off, keeping your gems safe and your miner unmoved.
-If this character is a Water Tao, then you can also revive your miner if it gets killed.
The main reason I do this, is because I’m too lazy to bring a character to run my gems to the market, especially if it’s only a normal gem. I use to lose a LOT of gems to mine pkers because I was too lazy to go back for anything less than 4 normal gems or a decent refined gem. I would also lose some precious mining time because I would sometimes be too lazy to run my miner all the way back to the mines, after dying.

5. Don’t be discouraged by mine pkers and don’t bother getting upset over lost gems. Keep in mind that your miner Will get pked fairly often, At Least once every day or two. You Will most defiantly loose gems to mine pkers, you might not always know you had a gem on you at the time but it is unavoidable, you will lose gems.
If you can’t handle getting your miner pked and loosing gems, then don’t mine!

6. Try talking to mine pkers.
Don’t push on the matter but if a mine pker kills your miner, just say a few words, all in good humor, if he doesn’t answer, let it go. Don’t Flame him, don’t threaten him, they could care less if you pked them and the only thing you will get out of it, is a mine pker who will look for your miners to kill. Try being nice, you’d be surprised how many mine pkers are actually people you know, who later say sorry, when they find out who your miners are. I have immunity from a lot of mine pkers just because they know who I am and feel bad about killing my miners. I’ve even cut deals with mine pkers where I payed them a normal gem a week and they left my miners alone, eventually they started feeling bad about it, stopped asking for the gem and still left my miners alone.

Mining Tips:
Here are a few little tips about mining with no proof supporting them except my own personal experience.

~Use a water tao for mining and you will enjoy the benefits of WindScrolls, they are very useful for getting to some mines faster.

~It does not matter what class, lvl or gear you mine with.

~If you mine in the same spot long enough, you will eventually mine a gem. It could take 5 minutes and it could take 2 days.

~The average miner, mines a gem every 5-6 hours.

~Mining against the wall or against objects does NOT increase you chances of mining a gem.

~If you sit and then right click to mine, you will regenerate HP as if you were sitting. Also, anyone jumping onto your screen will see you sitting for a brief moment.

~Gem spots do NOT exist, sometimes it may seem like they do, but it all just comes down to luck.

~Watching you miner mine for long periods of time, makes mining depressingly slow and boring, don’t do it, it’s not healthy!

~It is true that people often guard the TC mines, but you miner will still get killed more in TC, than it will in any other mine.

~I’ve never had more or less luck, while mining near and/or on top of other people. Non the less, I try to stay away from other miners.

~PC, DC & AC mines have 4 floors, each one splits into 2 more, so you get a total of 15 maps you can mine in. You can go down a floor by locating the ladder at the left and right bottom corners of the mine; every side leads you to a new floor.

~Pickaxe proficiency lvl does not affect mining in any way, all it does is increase your damage dealt with a pickaxe.

~Pickaxe quality does not affect mining at all, a Super 2soc +5 -5 109 hp skg/smg pickaxe, will not mine any better than a normal pickaxe. What it will do, is waist a lot of your money.

~I must say again, do NOT mine in TC unless you want a furry or a tortoise gem. TC mines are horrible, I mine about 1 gem there for every 10 gems I’d mine in PC and 15 I’d mine in DC. If you’ve been mining in TC for ages and haven’t gotten any gems, my advice is..
Go to different mines!

~A lot of mine pkers are very low lvl noobs looking for quick cash. If you want to cut in half the amount of times you get mine pked, mine with a high lvl character, preferably rb with a guard. The newbies won’t be able to hit you for more than 1-30, they’ll give up very fast. Do not however mine with a character that you don’t want to loose exp on and defiantly don’t mine with expensive gear on!

~The Blue Mouse quest, is a miners best friend. I personally use all nvg, nmg, nkg and npg I mine for the blue mouse quest. You get more money in met value, than you would for the gems themselves.

heres a quick overview of the prizes:

Rewards:

20,000 silver
50,000 silver
1 meteor
2 meteors
5 meteors
6 meteors
9 meteors
10 meteors

Steps Involved:

1. *Purchase (or mine) a normal Dragon Gem, Phoenix Gem, Kylin Gem, or Rainbow Gem in exchange for a Silver Needle.
*Purchase (or mine) a normal Fury Gem, Moon Gem or Violet Gem in exchange for a Gold Needle.

2. Head over to the NPC (Old Miner) outside of Phoenix City mines, located just above the NPC which is used to enter the mines. Speak to the Old Miner, and exchange your gem for a silver/gold needle, accordingly.

3. With needle in inventory, search the sub-floors of the mines for a Blue Mouse, and once found, successfully catch him to claim your prize.

4. Head over to Twin City and speak to General Judd, whom is located at the extreme top left of the Twin City map, to claim your prize!

Detailed Explanation:

Step 1: The first and utmost important step is to purchase the gem(s) according to whichever needle is desired. In purchasing the gem(s), keep in mind that the end result should “earn” you something. I’ve personally found that there are only 3 gems worth purchasing/using. For the silver needle, purchase/use either a normal Phoenix or Kylin gem. For the gold needle, purchase/use only the Moon gem.

The needles do in fact make all the difference. The silver needle, although providing less chance of success in catching the mouse, may drop 1 or 2 items, at most. The gold needle on the other hand will always drop the 1 item, which is obtained only through the gold needle. In addition to this item, the gold needle may also drop any one of the first two items, or even all 3 by chance!

There are 4 possibilities in all for the items dropped:

-AsterNecklace
-PinetumPicture
-RoyalSword (The 1 item obtained only through a gold needle)
-SecretCommand ( Good luck obtaining this one!)

From what I have observed both through the forums and through personal experience, here are the list of prizes:

-Asternecklace: 1 Met
-PinetumPicture: 1 Met <— Posted on a previous thread.
-RoyalSword: 5 Mets

-Aster & Pinetum: 2 Mets
-Royal & Pinetum: 6 Mets
-Royal, Atre & Pinetum: 9 Mets
-SecretCommand: 10 Mets

Sep 2: Pretty self-explanatory, although make sure you read the Old Miner’s message at leact once. Also, you may only obtain one of each needle at one time. In other words, you cannot obtain multiple gold and silver, and will need to re-visit the Old Miner whenever you wish to obtain another needle. You can however bring along with you as many gems as you wish to, and simply keep re-visiting the Old Miner upon completing the quest once.

Step 3: This is where the frustration begins. Once understood, finding the mouse becomes the easiest step involved in the quest. The toughest obstacle of course, is successfully catching it! I’ve tested this over and over again, and have come to the following conclusions…

First off, I would like to thank “Nabster” for his excellent contribution in posting all possible spawn points, to a great level of accuracy! Thank you my friend, you saved me a great deal of time. The image can be found through the following link:

http://bbs.conqueronline.com/attachm…postid=3125789

* There is a split between two halfs of the map, and it can be spotted by an arrow like figure on each sub floor of the mine. Ive posted an image as a follow-up:

Begin from this halfway split on the map, and search only to the left of this point. You are more than likely to spot the mouse atleast once at any one or more of the indicated spawn points. There may also be as many as three mouses spotted at the same time, in different spawn points.

* As soon as you spot the mouse, jump as close to it as possible, and immediately click over it. I have found that the greater the delay in clicking the mouse, the lower the chance of success in catching it. Therefore, dont waste ANY time at all once the mouse has been spotted, and immediately jump close to and click over the mouse. I’ve also tested and found that the quicker your response, the better the odds of getting more than 1 item dropped. This is almost always the case when I am searching for the mouse with the gold needle, and am able to click the mouse almost immediately upon jumping directly beside it.

* Ive also come to find that if the mouse isn’t found on one of the sub-floors, then continue to search all the remaining floors. In addition, if you fail to catch the mouse, remember that its very likely he will spawn on the same floor again, at a different spawn. Therefore, search to the left of the arrow point again and make sure you dont miss a second or third spawn.

Step 4: Congrats on catching the little pest, and head on over to Twin City to claim your pirze. There is however a very important note I should point out: Do not claim your prize unless you are completely fullfilled with the items dropped. If for instance you used a silver needle, and obtained only an AsterNecklace, remember that you can store that item in your inventory and restart the quest with another gem to obtain the other items. I have done this numerous times myself, seeing as how if the silver needle gives me both the AsterNecklace and PinetumPicture, all I need remaining is the RoyalSword (gauranteed through just 1 gold needle) in order to claim 9 meteors! Completely worth it in my opinion!

- There is also the case of receiving a DB from the quest, and although I have not seen a valid screenshot proof of it, I am not a disbeliever, nor a convinced believer. I leave that entirely up to the myth busters, until of course I obtain one myself, and post a screenie for everyone.

In conclusion, I would like to add that the prices of gems vary on every server. The price of a normal Kylin or Phoenix gem is around 100k-250k (On my current server, Neptune). I am almost always able to obtain one of each for just 100k. The price of a Moon is anywhere from 500-650k, as apposed to the Violet which is anywhere from 700-900k. Therefore, I personally tend to favor the MoonGem when aquiring the gold needle. All other gems are too costly or should serve another useful purpose. Remember, the key is to “gain” something as an end result. Meteors are still sold each day over Neptune for 150k without any trouble. Therefore a 500k MoonGem can still earn you the price of 5 mets, wich of course comes to be 5 x 150,000 = 750,000 (750k).

If your as fortunate as I occasionally am, you will receive all 3 items from the gold needle, rewarding you 9 mets, which in turn comes to 1,350,000 (1.35kk). That’s a hell of a gain!

I wish you all the best of luck, and if there is anything I happened to have overlooked, do share it with the rest of us!

WORD OF WARNING: Do not, under any circumstance, drop the needle. Otherwise it will dissapear… as in simply cease to exist! In other words, you just lost a gem!  The exact same goes for the items. Nor the needle(s) or item(s) can be dropped, traded, or stashed in a warehouse. The needle/item is only meant to be stored in your personal inventory!
